Bridal Trends: Dramatic Trains, Textured Fabrics & Modern Romance

Bridal trends this year are reflecting a shift towards a combination of sophistication with modern style, and we’re loving every bit of it! We’re finding that brides are looking for wedding dresses that reflect their personal style with lots of little details that make a big impact.

For today’s blog, we wanted to focus on three of our favorite bridal fashion trends and feature some gowns that reflect those stunning trends. Let’s get started!

Dramatic Trains
Adding next-level regal glamour and elegance, dramatic trains are back in a big way in bridal fashion. Bold bridal trains have been a longtime symbol of status and wealth, a tradition that brides embrace for its aesthetic and the ability to make a grand entrance at a large wedding. But wedding dresses with dramatic trains aren’t exclusively for big weddings - we love when brides take any chance they can to have a statement-making moment with a train. Enter style D3787 by Essense of Australia, a romantic a-line wedding dress with detachable off the shoulder blouson sleeves for volume and a gorgeous bold train that trails behind beautifully. This dress is perfect for brides who want a mix of regal and boho for their wedding gown.

Textured Fabrics
Bridal gowns with textured fabrics are popular right now for wedding dresses because they create depth to the look and add visual interest that’s stunning. What we love about textured fabrics is that it looks beautiful on all sorts of wedding dress styles, whether it’s a sheath lace bridal gown, a jacquard a-line dress, or a crepe ball gown. We’ve got two gowns in our collection from Essense of Australia that are beautifully textured. Style D4331 is a mix of classic elegance with modern day glamour, with its ball gown silhouette and embellished sweetheart structured bodice. The skirt features shimmery glitter tulle and pleated layers that create dimension and movement. Style D4106 is perfect for a bride who wants something more extravagant for her wedding day. This princess-inspired wedding dress features glittery tulle and delicate lace, with lacy off the shoulder straps and a corset bodice that has floral lace accents.

Modern Romance
This trend is a fan favorite among brides right now because it allows you to choose a gown that combines traditional bridal style with modern looks. You can blend a fresh, more contemporary aesthetic with traditional elements that are feminine and breathtaking. It’s sort of an umbrella trend that can include everything from basque waists to blush undertones to flowy skirts and ethereal styles. Our favorite modern romantic wedding gown is style SY8189 from Stella York. This strapless ball gown features a full gathered tulle skirt in a blush pink hue with a lace basque waist bodice that’s classic meets romantic in the most gorgeous way. We love the detachable little bow that wraps around the waist for a romantic, soft look. The cat eye bodice gives it a modern fashion-forward feel that balances the artistry of the delicate texture in this dress.
